DNS Masking?

DNS masking is where someone changes the domain name to make a link look like another link. DNS masking is used for link shortening and security and privacy reasons, but it has also been used for hackers to phish for information by making the user think that the hacker is someone trustable. For example, a hacker could be using some random email address to trick users into clicking into some random website and downloading malware onto their computer, or adding them to an email list or something. The hacker could be using DNS masking, however, to make it look like they had sent an email from an amazon Gmail account, and linking to what a user may think is the link to amazon.com. DNS masking can be very useful, but the only problem is that most people on the internet aren’t at all educated about the risks of it. I personally think that it’s useful, but that it shouldn’t be used because more people would suffer from it than benefit from it.
